PUTAWAY SUPPORT

Privacy policy

Effective: October 20, 2026

This policy covers Putaway and its introduction and support pages on Modoodle. The operator and privacy contact is Byungik Hyun (현병익). Contact: kohana.manage@gmail.com.

Information processed on your Mac

File organization and AI suggestions run on your Mac. Putaway does not upload file contents or organizing history to the operator’s server. The app does not use advertising, behavioral analytics or remote crash-reporting SDKs.

When you share a file, the macOS sharing destination you choose handles it under that service’s policies. Putaway does not send the file to a sharing service without your choice.

Optional AI suggestions

Putaway uses Apple Intelligence’s on-device Foundation Models. It analyzes file names and metadata, selected folders and their purposes, and excerpts from supported files. Text input comes from the first 16KB; PDF input comes from the first two pages of files up to 8MB. The resulting excerpt is limited to 2,200 characters. The whole file is not necessarily analyzed.

Prepared suggestions store proposed names, destination paths, short reasons and file identity in owner-readable and writable SuggestionCache.json. Original excerpts are not separately cached, but a proposed name or reason may contain words from them. The cache holds up to 200 results and never reuses results older than seven days. Expired entries are removed on subsequent cache cleanup and saving, so they may remain on disk longer while the app is unused. Basic organizing does not require AI.

Purchases and license checks

Lemon Squeezy handles payment and license issuance. You enter your email, name, billing country and address, and payment details directly in its checkout. Its privacy policy and buyer terms apply. The operator uses purchase emails, order numbers, product, amount, refund status and license registrations to provide purchase support, activation and refunds. Putaway does not receive or store card numbers.

Activation, deactivation and verification send the license key and this Mac’s license instance ID to api.lemonsqueezy.com. First activation also sends a device alias made from part of a random installation ID. These requests do not include your Mac username, serial number, file paths or file contents. The server may process connection information such as IP addresses. After a day has passed since verification, checks occur when needed during app launch or opening settings. Temporary network failures allow existing Pro access for up to 30 days from the last successful verification.

The key, instance ID, verification time, trial start, random installation ID and free AI usage are stored in this Mac’s Keychain, without iCloud Keychain synchronization. They can survive reinstallation. ‘Deactivate this Mac’ removes the server registration and locally stored key and instance ID; trial start, installation ID and usage remain.

Website, support and external processing

Cloudflare hosts Putaway’s pages. Page requests may involve IP addresses, requested paths, timestamps and browser information for delivery and security. Putaway pages do not add advertising trackers or separate visitor-analytics scripts. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for its processing and retention.

Support uses your email address and the information you choose to send to resolve your request. Do not send full license keys, card details or personal files. Redact keys and private paths in screenshots. Resolved support correspondence is normally deleted within one year of resolution. Information needed for disputes or legal retention is retained separately only as necessary. The payment provider’s own retention duties and policy apply to its order and tax records.

Lemon Squeezy and Cloudflare are US-based external providers. Payment, license and website-request information may be processed in the United States and other countries where these providers deliver their services. The information, purposes and retention are described above and in their policies. Local file organization and AI analysis are not part of that external processing. Without payment or license communication, paid features cannot be activated. Basic organization in an installed app does not require visiting the website.

Permissions and updates

Putaway accesses folders you authorize. macOS notifications and launch at login are optional. It does not request screen-recording permission. Deferring cards during meetings or full-screen use relies on running-app and window information.

The current release candidate has no connected update-feed URL and sends no Sparkle update requests. Before a build connects an update server, this policy and release information will describe the server and data involved.

Removal and your rights

Undo any needed operations first, and deactivate this Mac before moving a paid registration. Quit Putaway, then use Finder’s Go → Go to Folder to open the Application Support folder above and remove history and suggestion cache. Removing history removes its undo capability. Contact support for help also resetting preferences or Keychain data. Uninstalling does not delete files you have organized.

Email the privacy contact to request access, correction, deletion or restriction of your order and support information. We use only the minimum information needed to verify your request, such as the purchase email. If legal retention applies, we explain the reason and information retained. We can also direct requests concerning payment-provider records to that provider. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information.
