Privacy Policy
Your history stays on your Mac. Network access is explained separately.
Effective October 18, 2026
1. Operator and scope
This policy covers the ClipMoa Mac app and its dedicated website provided by Kohana (코하나), represented by Byungik Hyun (현병익). Business registration: 609-32-66080. Mail-order business registration: 2026-수원영통-1029. Privacy contact: kohana.manage@gmail.com. Effective October 18, 2026. It describes the current internal test distribution.
2. Data processed on your Mac
ClipMoa processes copied text, formatting, images, file references and original representations; source-app names and identifiers; timestamps and use counts; pins, boards, tags, snippets, search-derived data and preferences to store, find and reuse records. File references may contain local paths. Ordinary history functions do not upload this content to Kohana servers. The current app has no account registration, cloud history sync, advertising SDK or usage analytics SDK. OCR and on-device AI on eligible Macs use Apple frameworks; the app does not send your source content to an external AI API. Apple OS/model provisioning and system diagnostics are separate.
3. Storage, retention and deletion
History is stored in SQLite under ~/Library/Application Support/ClipShelf/; preferences use macOS user settings. The historical folder name preserves existing data. From 0.14.0, Free keeps ordinary history for 30 days from the last-copy time. Pro and the 14-day trial can choose 7, 30, 90 or 365 days, or unlimited retention. Existing test records at the first plan migration and records imported from backups are exempt from automatic cleanup. Pins and records protected by boards, tags, snippets or the paste queue are excluded from automatic expiry. Deleted items stay in Trash; app maintenance removes eligible items after 30 days, excluding protected items such as queued records. Emptying Trash permanently removes records from the app. This is logical deletion, not guaranteed secure erasure of SQLite remnants, OS backups or snapshots. Removing the app alone does not remove history.
4. Temporary mode, backups and sharing
Newly captured records in temporary mode remain in memory and disappear when the mode ends or the process exits. Existing disk history, the system clipboard and OS virtual memory are separate. Exports can contain original text, images, boards, tags, snippets, pins and Trash; the app does not separately encrypt them. Choosing iCloud Drive or another synced destination may sync the export through that service. Sharing, drag and drop, opening links and pasting deliver content to apps or services you choose. Later cleanup removes share copies older than one hour, and normal exit also attempts cleanup. Immediate removal after a crash or from OS backups is not guaranteed.
5. Permissions and sensitive content
Direct paste and selected features use macOS Accessibility permission. Snippet keyword expansion is off by default. If enabled, a short recent typing buffer is processed in memory to recognize keywords; typed strings are not saved as keystroke logs or sent to a server. While active, the paste stack detects Command-V. You can pause capture, ignore the next copy, exclude apps, use an allowlist and configure sensitive-content rules. Known password apps and concealed/transient pasteboard markers are excluded, but detection cannot identify every password or item of personal data. Pause capture before sensitive work.
6. Updates and website requests
Update checks and downloads connect over HTTPS to kohanacloud.com using Cloudflare hosting and delivery. IP addresses, request paths and times, and browser/update-client request headers may be processed as connection data. Clipboard content is not included in update requests. Sparkle system-profile submission is disabled. Automatic checks can be enabled by you; automatic installation is disabled and installation starts with your action. Kohana adds no separate advertising or analytics tracking scripts to this page. Cloudflare may process requests across its global network; see its Privacy Policy for provider processing, retention and country information. We do not promise an unverified fixed connection-log retention period or Korea-only processing.
7. Support messages and retention
When you email support, your email address, message and any files you choose to send are processed for support and troubleshooting. Messages are handled by Google email services and Kohana’s business mailbox; provider infrastructure may process them outside your country. See Google’s Privacy Policy. Resolved ClipMoa support messages are deleted within 90 days of resolution. Unresolved messages are retained for up to one year after the last contact. Material needed for a dispute or statutory retention is restricted to the necessary scope and period. Do not send passwords or full clipboard backups; use synthetic examples. Support materials are not used for advertising, sale or AI training.
8. Your choices, rights and safeguards
You can pause capture, change exclusions, and view, export, edit or delete local records in the app. You can revoke permissions in macOS settings and disable automatic update checks. Kohana cannot remotely read or delete history on your Mac. You may request access, correction, deletion or restriction of support data held by Kohana through the contact email; we use proportionate verification and process requests under applicable law. Local folder access controls, HTTPS and signed distribution are used, but the app does not separately encrypt the history database or exports. Protect your Mac account, FileVault settings and backups. Kohana restricts work access to support materials. Contact us for additional information about provider processing, cross-border handling or exercising your rights.
9. Policy changes
Material changes will be announced on this page and in release information before taking effect, with notices and consent where required by law. Unreleased sync, analytics or payment features are not represented as current functions. Previous policy versions and change history are available through support.
