ClipMoa · 0.14.2

Updating ClipMoa to 0.14.2

For older versions, close Settings first and use the app menu to update. If installation or reopening gets stuck, follow the steps below.

Before updating

  1. If Settings is open, click Done to close it.
  2. In the macOS menu bar, choose ClipMoa → Check for Updates….
  3. Choose Install Update. When the download finishes, click Install & Relaunch if shown.
  4. After the app reopens, check Settings → General for 0.14.2 (build 34).

If installation or relaunch stops

An older Settings sheet can prevent the app from quitting. An old version number in the completion message can also mean the previous process is still running.

  1. Dismiss any completion message and close Settings with Done.
  2. Once the download is complete and you are no longer seeing an installation progress indicator, choose ClipMoa → Quit ClipMoa or press ⌘Q. Closing the red window button alone does not quit the app.
  3. Let any pending installer finish. If the app does not reopen, open /Applications/ClipMoa.app.
  4. Confirm 0.14.2 (build 34) in Settings.

If ⌘Q does not respond after installation has stopped, press ⌥⌘Esc, select ClipMoa and choose Force Quit. Unsaved work may be lost; try normal Quit first. Reopen ClipMoa if it does not reopen itself.

If you still see an older version

  1. Quit ClipMoa completely.
  2. Download the official ZIP below and extract it.
  3. Put ClipMoa.app in Applications, replacing the existing copy. Do not run another copy from Downloads or an app with an earlier name at the same time.
  4. Open /Applications/ClipMoa.app and confirm the version in Settings.
Download ClipMoa 0.14.2

To preserve history, do not reset app data or use an uninstaller to remove its data. History is stored outside the app bundle in ~/Library/Application Support/ClipShelf/. You can export important history from the app’s data settings before updating.

What we verified

On this test Mac in /Applications, original public versions 0.13.2 and 0.13.3 updated and reopened automatically through the app menu. Original 0.13.9 also reopened automatically after checking from Settings. Version 0.13.3 with its Settings sheet open was blocked from quitting; closing Settings and pressing ⌘Q completed installation and reopened 0.13.10. All 93 existing records were preserved.

Additional check: with Settings open in /Applications, version 0.13.11 updated to 0.13.12 (build 28) and relaunched automatically, without a manual launch. All 106 existing records and stored data were preserved. This result covers the test Mac.

On this test Mac in /Applications, the unmodified public 0.13.12 updated to 0.13.13 (build 29) with Settings open and automatically reopened with the new design, without a manual launch. All 112 existing records, the paste queue, Korean language, shortcuts and permission were retained. See the recovery guide if another environment stalls.

Verified October 17, 2026. Results vary by version, installation location and macOS. The Force Quit UI and manual ZIP replacement are fallback instructions; those exact UI flows were not repeated in this test.
