CELLAR · KOHANA

Terms of use

Effective and last updated: October 13, 2026

Cellar is a local macOS credential vault provided by Kohana (코하나), a sole proprietorship in South Korea. This document describes use of the official app, website, and support. The MIT license governs rights to use, copy, modify, and distribute the code; this document imposes no additional restriction on those rights.

1. Free public beta and license

The official app is currently a free public beta. There is no Cellar account signup, payment, subscription, or paid sales contract. Source code is provided under the MIT license. Provider logos, trademarks, and other external material remain subject to their owners’ rights and third-party notices and are not automatically relicensed under MIT.

2. Official distribution and support scope

Supported platforms are Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 14 or later, with Korean and English interfaces. Official distribution is through Cellar’s pages on kohanacloud.com and the kohana-dev/keydesk GitHub releases. Fixes are provided for the latest official release; older versions are not maintained separately. Not every beta environment, recovery on another Mac, or external tool has been verified, and no independent security audit is claimed.

3. Vaults, recovery, and your approvals

Register credentials and files you have authority to store and use, and review the tools and requests you approve. Approved tools can read or transmit actual credentials. Check backup save and cloud upload status and maintain the independent recovery path you need. Deleting a local credential does not revoke it at its provider or erase earlier backups; changing a recovery key does not invalidate old backups.

4. Privacy and external services

The privacy policy distinguishes local storage, your Apple and Google Drive services, update checks, report drafts and support, and hosting connection information. Basic local functions remain available without optional update checks, reports, or cloud backup. GitHub, Apple, Google Drive, hosting services, and API providers you connect apply their own terms to their accounts and independent services. Kohana cannot guarantee those providers’ service delivery, account recovery, or credential revocation on their behalf.

5. Updates and service changes

Update checks query public release information only when you choose them; installation is manual. Features, support scope, or distribution may change or end; material changes are explained through the website, documentation, or release notes. MIT license rights in code already distributed remain in place. If a paid product is introduced, its pricing, contract, cancellation, and applicable conditions will be offered separately; existing free users will not be charged automatically.

6. Beta limitations and statutory rights

The MIT license sets warranty and liability terms to the extent permitted by law. The beta may contain defects, compatibility issues, or interruptions; a particular result or safe operation in every environment is not promised. This document does not exclude rights or liabilities that applicable law makes mandatory, exclude legal liability for the operator’s intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or unfairly shift responsibility to you.

7. Questions and reports

Business questions and privacy requests can be sent to the business email below. Ordinary bugs may be reported through public GitHub issues; an in-app report becomes public only when you submit it yourself on GitHub. Do not include actual credentials, recovery codes, vaults, backups, or unnecessary personal information. Report vulnerabilities privately. Support is free, with no guaranteed response time or promise to resolve every request. Statutory handling requirements apply to privacy rights requests.

8. Ending use

You can stop use by quitting or uninstalling the app and disconnecting optional integrations. Check the exports, recovery, and backups you need first. Uninstalling does not delete every support file on the Mac, Keychain item, iCloud or Google Drive copy, or independent backup. Send requests to delete support information received by the operator using the contact in the privacy policy.

9. Changes and disputes

Changes to this document are published on the website with an effective date. They do not remove MIT rights already granted or applicable statutory rights. You can first seek resolution through the business email. South Korean law is the reference, without excluding mandatory protections applicable to you; court jurisdiction follows applicable law. No mandatory arbitration or exclusive choice of a particular court is imposed.
